Wishlist for Indicast Tech Vidcast
The Big Idea
A TWiT for India show under the Indicast umbrella.
The Plan
- One fortnightly 20 min podcast broken up into 3-4 vidcasts of 3-5 min each. Shows to be recorded at the Indicast virtual studio .
- Meet on 9 am to 12 noon on Sunday March 16th to record the first episode of the podcast + brainstorm for the vidcast.
- In the interim, brainstorm on the wiki and develop the script for the first episode of the podcast.
Tentative Format
- Aditya Mhatre hosts the show with a rotating panel of 6-7 guests.
- Possible panel of guests include Brajeshwar Oinam & Aalaap Ghag on gadgets/ technology trends, VeerChand Bothra & Aditya Mishra on mobile/ startups, and Gaurav Mishra & Saket Vaidya on social media/ web 2.0. More suggestions on possible guests welcome.
- Suggested tone of discussion: light friendly banter interspersed with incisive insights on the Indian tech scene.
- Focus on Indian tech players or on implications on Indian tech scene, when discussing international players or developments.
- Suggestions welcome on branding under the Indicast umbrella.
Brainstorming for Vidcast
- When we meet on 15th March for the podcast.
- At a place where a computer can be hooked to a TV.
- To freeze on a format, All need to take a look the different kind of formats available currently. First lets replicate whats out there and then innovate.
- All to familiarize with the concept of vidcasting by downloading various podcasts like TWIT and Buzz out Loud.
- Check out various vidcasts available on the net to know what is out there. Aditya Mhatre will download all the different kinds of vidcasts and present it to everyone else.
- Discuss the practical pros and cons of each format.
- Set expectations from each other.
Tentative Topics for the First Episode
- Social media: Twitter how-to-guide plus overview of micro-blogging platforms in India, including Chittr, MyToday MOBS, Webaroo SMSGupShup, Reliance m-blog and Nokia N-Series m-blog. Led by VeerChand Bothra and Gaurav Mishra.
- Startups: What to expect at the upcoming Mumbai and Bangalore Barcamps. Led by VeerChand Bothra & Aditya Mishra. LinkBunch by Aalaap Ghag.
- Gadgets: Adobe Air video recorder vs Nokia N series (maybe) for mobile vidcasting. Led by Brajeshwar Oinam and Aditya Mhatre.
- Start tagging interesting tech stories for discussion apart from the ones above. use the tag TKM1 (1 is the episode number so next episode it'll be tkm2 duh!)
